El primero de febrero de 1991 se abrió sus puertas la Unidad de Fisioterapia y Rehabilitación de Médica Sur. Desde entonces ha evolucionado constantemente pasando de ser un servicio en su mayoría de atención a pacientes ambulatorios a parte importante de la atención integral de los pacientes hospitalizados.

A partir de 2012, la Unidad de Fisioterapia y Rehabilitación pasó a ser la Clínica de Medicina de Rehabilitación, cuyos servicios se han ido adecuando a las necesidades de los pacientes que acuden a Médica Sur y los médicos remitentes.

Con la intención de alcanzar los estándares de calidad de la Joint Commission International y el Consejo de Salubridad General hemos elevado las exigencias en la selección de personal, pero sobre todo para satisfacer las expectativas de nuestros pacientes y sus familiares.

Con el inicio de la pandemia de Covid- 19 en 2020, el personal de la clínica participó en el desarrollo de protocolos de atención y seguridad para los pacientes, además de salvaguardar la integridad de los colaboradores.

Actualmente la atención que presta el personal de la Clínica de Medicina de Rehabilitación abarca desde la fase aguda de los padecimientos en las diferentes áreas hospitalarias hasta las fases subagudas y crónicas directamente en la clínica. Esto ha hecho patentes los beneficios de la rehabilitación precoz y la prevención.
